International Summer School of Mathematics for Young Students (august 2012, Lyon, France)

February 6, 2012

Last year took place the first such summer school (see videos online)  in july 2011 in Bremen, Germany (with lots of official support from the European Union, maths societies, and so on).

Well, it looks like it is firmly established now: the 2nd such summer school will take place in Lyon, France, at the end of this August 2012, still with all those official sponsors.

Like last time, the list of invited speakers looks fantastic, and the public is meant to consist of students aged between 16 and 20 roughly (last two years of high school to 2nd year of university). There’s a 400€ registration fee (which covers everything on-site: accomodation, meals…), but there’s financial support for participants should they need it, both for that fee and for transportation costs.

All lectures will be in english, so one of the few requirements they have is that the students understand that langage very well.

Registration will open on february 15th, and will last until march 31st.  Then they will select those that can attend.
